The mission of CT Valley Atheists is to be more active in the community and participate in charity events. For our first activity, we decided to join Relay For Life® of South Windsor and Rockville. The CT Valley Atheist Team is captained by Mike Rickaby.
The actual walk is on June 13-14 at South Windsor High School. Please join us or make a donation in our name.

This year’s American Atheist National Convention is in Minneapolis. As usual, it’s over Easter weekend, from the 21st to the 23rd of March. I’ll be there. I hope to see some of you. I realize that it’s more of an expense than many people can afford, but if you could see your way to spending a long weekend in another part of the country this is a good way to do it. Not only do they always have some interesting speakers, including, this year, Richard Dawkins, the author of The Selfish Gene and The God Delusion, but more importantly it’s a chance to meet and connect with activists from all across the nation. It’s always the latter aspect which I appreciate best after attending one of these. You can also take the opportunity to explore (or get reacquainted with) a new part of the country. I always stay an extra day to visit the area’s museums, parks, etc.
