Sarah Palin - Going Rogue

Postby picco on Thu Dec 24, 2009 5:34 pm

Just read this in Sports Illustrated

Sports Illustrated, Dec. 28, 2009
Scorecard: Strangest Stories of a Strange Year

The Wizard of West Big Horn
Sarah Palin’s best seller. Going Rogue, cites the following quote from UCLA coach John Wooden: “Our land is everything to us … I will tell you one of the things we remember on our land. We remember our grandfathers paid for it – with their lives.” The originator of that quote was actually John Wooden Legs, a native American activist who was referring to the victory of the Cheyenne and the Sioux at the Battle of Little Big Horn.

At least Sarah is consistent. She misspeaks and misquotes all the time.

McSame did one thing right. Unlike Obama who picked a capable senator to waste in the post of VP, McSame picked an ignorant non-entity with the brain of a pea.

She would have been perfect for VP unless McSame dropped dead.

Then, the Secret Service would have had to shoot her.

I find it hard to understand why she's still in the press, to be honest. And incredibly tedious woman has been somehow given an incredibly long (and tedious) public shelf-life. And she's managed to somehow escape the obvious criticisms and public admonishment that, by rights, should come her way as it would to anyone else who had the audacity to attempt just gross dumbfuckery.

Bottom line is, she bores me.

She tells the lunatic fringe what they want to hear.

That assures continued coverage.

She's still in the news because she resigned her governor job in Alaska and wrote this book, and has been making the rounds promoting the book, which is a rather unexpected best seller. Just goes to show you what sort of idiots we have in the US. Being an atheist is difficult in this backward country.

She is still in the press, I believe, more for the sheer incredulity than for any newsworthy reason. The religious right loves her because she represents much of what they hold dear. Her creationist and fundamentalist views are perfect for them. Add the fact that fundies are terrified of anyone more intelligent than they and you have a perfect storm.
