Not sure if this is the right forum, but, what do you all think about Tebow's ad about abortion to air during the Super Bowl? CBS axed a gay ad, but are running Tebow's.

Quite honestly, I don't really even care. He is expressing his opinion and the amount of money spent on this ad should outrage most Christians but probably won't.

It is 2 minutes out of how many advert minutes during the highest dollar per sec advert campaign in the world.

On the other hand, if it opens the floodgates to this kind of crap then I'll kick myself for being so nonchalant.

I'm sick and tired of these christians shoving their belief's down the throats of all of us, especially children. Now, it is possible this ad is not quite truthful. Abortion is not legal in the Phillipines, and Tebow's mother is claiming it was recommened to her by a doctore in the Phillipines that she should have an abortion. There is a six year prison sentence in the Phillipines for abortion. So, I'm thinking CBS is making a big mistake here. But of course, I may be wrong.

From what I understand, the doctor recommended abortion for medically necessary reasons for her own health and she chose to ignore it. I assume the Phillipines does allow abortion for medical necessity (how else are the rich to obtain their abortions?) so it may have been quite legal. Many women have risked their lives to deliver a child, this is nothing special. Many have also died in the process. She did not. I do not believe that the fetus' health was ever in question (I may be wrong) so a healthy baby isn't special either. They are making a religious and political point. I have no desire to censor them. I can ignore them just as well as they ignore us.... ooops, they don't tend to ignore us, do they? Ok, I can ignore them because I am better than them? How about, I can ignore them because I feel that they have every right to spend thousands of dollars convincing no one of anything because I believe we all have the right to do the same.

If I had unlimited funds, maybe I would tell the world about how man made their holy book is. I am sure they would support my right to do so.

I would not count on that, my dear. They think their opinions are holy or something.
